Some users have been reporting intermittent and lengthy log in delays when logging in to their mailboxes. Engineers are seeing slow responses from the email database and are currently investigating the cause.

[resolved] Engineers brought an additional proxy server online overnight, and as the service has continued to remain stable during the morning peak, have now marked this status as resolved.

[monitoring] Engineers belieive they have tracked the latency down to a memcache issue and have adjusted the limits accordingly. We will continue to monitor for the time being, but initial reports appear to suggest this is now working OK.
