We started to receive reports in the last few minutes from a number of users saying that they are unable to access mail services either via their email program or directly on https://mail.34sp.com Engineers have launched an investigation and we will report back once we have further information.

[resolved] Our engineers concluding report says that the server rebooted. Under normal circumstances, this would usually take a few seconds and leave users unaffected. In this instance the server BIOS was hanging on start up and awaiting manual confirmation of pending hardware updates.

[monitoring] One of the storage nodes for email had stopped responding. This was quickly identified and rectified. We are now looking at the cause and future prevention, and will continue to monitor.
