Update:
Power was restored to all affected servers and we have verified that they are now all available again. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this downtime will have caused to those affected. During this incident we have worked with our datacentre providers, Interxion, to restore service as quickly as possible.
-----
As suspected, this was down to the failure of a power feed. Most servers have been restored already and we are just waiting for the last few to boot up.
-----
Several servers have failed together. At the moment, this looks like a power related problem. We have engineers investigating the issue and will post here as soon as we have any more news.
This is affecting both our support mail and chat services.

We are experiencing an outage on the network supplying our datacentre at the moment. This is affecting all services and we are working to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
It does seem that this problem is out of our control but our network providers are aware of the problem.
This problem has been resolved for the past 15 minutes. We are keeping an eye on the situation and will do anything we can to keep our server as available as possible.

Update:
holly is back up as of 9.45PM BST
Update:
Our engineer has been on site throughout the day liasing with our technical director in Manchester. The day has been spent testing the server for common points of failure and hardware issues.
Full checks of all hardware components have now been performed and all appear in working order. At present we are running a full check of the servers disk array. As the server uses complex SCSI disk arrays a full check can take several hours.
If this fails to produce any results we hope to receive a replacement server from our suppliers early Friday morning.
We do understand the inconvenience and disruption caused by such a
failure. However we hope you understand the very uncommon nature of such a problem and that this is the first error we have experienced
on any shared server (of this duration in over 2 years).
We do ask that you hold off on server move requests until the start of UK business hours Friday. The issue may be resolved before this period and such a move may actually cause you further downtime.
Original Post:
Service on holly.34sp.com is intermittent at the moment. We are looking into this and will have it fixed as soon as possible.
An engineer is now on site as holly has become completely unavailable.
On further inspection by the engineer it seems as though this is a hardware failure issue.
We are now trying to isolate the failure and replace the part with spares which we hold at the datacentre.

Mail on the holly.34sp.com server is currently being delayed. A site on the server was compromised and used to send a lot of mail out, the vast majority of which is still sitting on the server.
This large amount of e-mail is being removed from the queues and during this we have stopped the mail service. Mail will not be lost during this, and we expect the delay to last for a few hours.
Update
Mail is now working again.

Customers may be experiencing long delays receiving or redirecting email.
Our engineers are working to resolve this as soon as possible.
We apologies for any inconvenience caused.
We believe the problem has now been corrected and mail should be working normally through deepthought.

Hal has experienced an error and is currently unavailable. We have an engineer en route to fix this and will update here as soon as we have further news.
It seems that the filesystem has become currupt on hal. Our engineer is currently repairing this and will have the server available again as soon as this is complete.
This has now been fixed.
