SMTP service offline

Update at 13:04:23(GMT): Please also note there WILL be delays to emails sent using SMTP, until everything catches up. Also note mails sent while the issue existed may need resending.


Update at 10:20:38(GMT): Customers having issues sending mail at this point, commonly an issue with Apple devices, may need to change the outgoing mailserver to smtp.34sp.com in order to kick it back into action.


Update at 10:15:30(GMT): Update at 09:59:23(GMT): We have identified and issue and applied a fix. There may be delays in mail sending due to an influx of connection attempts. This should settle during the morning.

Description

Update at 13:30:30(GMT): The issue has now been resolved with this server. The attacks appeared to stop later yesterday. We have also added some software updates to help and increased server memory to cope under load. The server and sites are now working better than before and we'll continue to keep a close eye on this.

Update at 11:18:29(GMT): The reseller server server9.xenserve.com is currently experiencing an unusually high load, partly as a result of an ongoing attack against a site hosted on the server.

Sites hosted on this server will currently be loading slower than usual and may occasionally time out.

We are working to mitigate this attack and restore the server to full availability.

Email access degraded

Description

Update at 12:28:22(GMT): We have now added to our mail server array so these issues should no loger recur.



We have experienced some server failures in the customer facing part of our email server array. As a result, the remaining servers are currently operating under a higher load than usual.

We are in the process of commissioning additional servers to add to the array to spread the load and expect this to be complete soon.

In the meantime, you may occasionally see connections to your email server dropping or failing. Please wait a couple of minutes and try again.

No email will be lost as a result of this problem.

Update at 22:53:01(GMT):
Upgrade is complete all services are now back online (22:52)

Update at 22:38:40(GMT): The update is about to start now (22:40)

Atmail hosted mailboxes will shortly go offline. The system will be unavailable for 15-20 minutes while additional capacity is added to the array.

This post will be udpated and resolve as the upgrade commences and ends.
