Server14, unusually high load (server14.34sp.com)

Description

Server14 appears to have functioned without fault for over 24hrs following the tuning steps performed to mitigate the problems experienced. We're now happy to mark this status as resolved.




Steps have been taken to further reduce the possibility of sudden load peaks on this server. We will continue to monitor server14 until we're satisfied that the service provided is returned to normal.




The problems with server14 should now be resolved. Again, we will be closely monitoring this server to hopefully ensure that the issue does not repeat itself.




Server14 has become unresponsive again, which may be related to the previous problems - we're investigating.

A domain on Server14 that was causing the high load (mainly to mysql) has been disabled and Engineers are investigating the root cause.

Server14 is up, but we shall continue to monitor it for now.

Server14 is experiencing a very high load that appears to be impacting on its service.

We've temporarily firewalled the server to try and reduce the load without rebooting, but this is currently having little affect.

Engineers will continue to work on the server and hope to have service returned as soon as is possible.

Description

Suspending the domain in question appears to have reduced the load on the server significantly. We shall be contacting the owner in due course. Please consider this matter as resolved.




Prohost3 has experienced very high load from a single domain, which has now been suspended. We're monitoring the server now to ensure that the issue does not repeat itself.

We are currently looking into an issue affecting services on this server.


An engineer has been called to the data center to further investigate this matter and hopefully have the matter resolved shortly.

Description

The server is back online again, mail services were not affected during this issue.



We are presently looking at a repeat fault on the system.





Steps have been taken to further reduce the possibility of sudden load peaks on this server. We will continue to monitor prohost2 until we're satisfied that the service provided is returned to normal.




The hardware upgrade has now been completed. We will continue to monitor server performance accordingly.




prohost2 is currently undergoing a hardware upgrade to reduce ongoing server problems. We anticipate the server to be unavailable for no more than 30 minutes.




Prohost2 is back up and we're monitoring the situation closely.




Prohost2 is currently experiencing a spike in load and as a result has become unresponsive. We're attempting to return the server to full service as we speak.




We are currently looking into an issue on prohost2.34sp.com which is making http access unavailable on this server.




Server has been stable for a while now - we are continuing to monitor.

Update at 09:07:02( GMT ) : The issue has now been resolved with this server.



At present users are unable to login to the Atmail webmail facility.

Engineers are currently investigating the nature of the problem and hope to resolve it shortly.

Update at 22:51:26( GMT ) : The issue has now been resolved with this server.





Prohost4 has been down for approximately 40 minutes. An Engineer has rectified the fault and is working to restore the machine to service.

Marvin experiencing extremely high load (marvin.34sp.com)

Description

The situation appears to be resolved. We have the IP of the offender and shall be contacting the owner of the netblock in due course.



The attack appears to be a DoS-style attack that we have mitigated via firewall rules within the network. We're currently monitoring Marvin for signs of any further problems.



At present we are investigating an issue facing Marvin that is currently placing an enormous load upon the server.

We hope to have this remedied as soon as possible.

Description

Prohost3 is running satisfactorily and does not appear to be at risk any longer. Please contact support if you have any further concerns.



Prohost3 is now back up following the loss of power and is now performing a routine check of all databases. Please treat this time as a period of monitoring until further notice.



We've had a momentary power outage on Prohost3, which has left the server down - we're restarting this now and shall investigate the problem immediately.
